Marketing Ideas For Naturopathic Doctors

These are some useful ideas for marketing Naturopathic services. I’ve worked at many advertising agencies and have produced dozens of profitable campaigns. I’m a direct response marketer, because I don’t have the patience for any other type of marketing.

I like getting the results of my efforts within weeks not months or years. Direct response marketing on the internet really speeds up the feedback you get. Here’s a few ways to maximize the profits you get from any marketing you do.

Pick the right method

The choices you have to market your practice are many, but only a few are the most effective. When it comes to marketing Naturopathic services, you need to educate the public about the benefits. Naturopathic services have to be sold, because the general public is not fully aware of the amazing results that are possible. I’ve seen people healed of life long illnesses from just one visit.

Since the public is not aware of the positive benefits of using a Naturopath, your advertising choices are more limited than a traditional doctor or lawyer. A Dentist can use a display ad and get a good response but a Naturopath probably will not get a profitable response from a simple display ad.

Room to sell

You need room to sell (explain) your service. And that can only be accomplished through a direct response letter. In direct response, long letters get the best response. You have to let the customer know who you are and what you can do for them. A postcard can’t do that for you, it has to be done in a letter format.

Target the right people

With direct mail you can also target specific audiences, like the aging baby boomers market. There are hundreds of list brokers who are waiting to sell you exactly the list you need. The more targeted your list, the higher response you’ll get. Two simple points to keep in mind when shopping for a mailing list. First, find out where they acquired the names (paid subscribers are the best). Second, it’s a free market place, so compare prices.

Get your letter read

Once you find the right list, you can create the letter with them in mind. Take your time and think up a powerful headline. Most people decide to keep reading based on the headline. Put the main benefit of using your service in the headline. In the body of the letter, tell them a success story. One that starts with a sick patient who tried everything else but was cured when they decide to come to you. Every Naturopathic Doctor has at least one of these stories.

This brings us to the testimonials, always include great testimonials. Just email your current clients a request for a testimonial. If you don’t get a lot of responses, try writing the testimonial for them and just ask them to OK it. Sometimes people are to busy (or lazy) to sit down and write one. See if you can get a picture to go along with each testimonial. It really adds to the believability of the testimonial when there’s a human face to go with it.

And finally end with a strong P.S. and an offer they can’t refuse. Maybe something for free or a chance to get more information. It should be something that will move them towards calling you for an appointment.
