Pilots, golfers, and virtually anyone who is responsible for the safety of others are concerned about dealing with “pest birds” effectively. They include pigeons, Canada geese, seagulls, starlings and others that contaminate and damage the various buildings in which we live, work, and play. Bird droppings have the potential to transmit over 60 known diseases, and they are also a safety hazard that can lead to lawsuits when injuries result from pest bird feces. Cancer is a class of animal disease, medically know as malignant neoplasm, wherein a cluster of cells show unrestrained growth ie division beyond the normal limit, intrusion and damage of tissues adjacent to them and spread (via blood or lymph) to other places. This malady is not restricted to just homosapiens but can even affect animals.
Reportedly, 7.6 million people died from cancer in the previous year.

In most of the cases, cancer is identified due to symptoms and its diagnosis is usually confirmed by a pathologist, who is a type of physician specializing in diagnosis of cancer. Suspected people are usually investigated with medical tests like blood test, X-rays, CT scan and endoscopy.

There are various methods for Cancer treatments such as surgery, immunotherapy, radiation therapy, chemotherapy and various other methods. The type of method employed depends on the patient's general health and the location and the stage of the tumour spread.
Complete surgical excision is possible in very few cases since the cancerous tissues usually metastasizes to other places in the patient's body before the surgery. Masectomy is the surgical treatment used for treating breast cancer while for prostate cancer, prostatectomy is used. The aim of carrying out the surgery is to remove the tumour or if required the entire affected organ, which is however unfortunately limited to very few cases of small cancer.

Radiation therapy is also known as radiotherapy. It uses ionizing radiation for killing cancerous cells and shrinking the tumors. It damages the genetic material of the cells thereby preventing them from replicating further. The drawback of this methodology of remedial is that it often damages the normal cells in addition to the harmful ones. Though, in most cases the normal ones recover and re-function properly, it leads to permanent damage in some. It is used in treating brain cancer, breast cancer, lung cancer and also cancer of the skin, prostate, uterus, stomach, or pancreas. Even lymphoma and leukemia can be treated by radiation.

Cancer can also be treated by Chemotherapy which involves use of drugs which destroy rapidly dividing cells. It interferes in various ways with division of cells and has the potential of harming healthy tissues. However after Chemotherapy these healthy cells repair themselves. High dose Chemotherapy is used for treatment of certain lymphomas and leukaemias.

Targeted Therapy is another medium for cure which employs certain agents which are specific for the cancer cells' deregulated protein. It also involves small peptides which bind to the surface cell receptors surrounding the tumour.

Some cancer growth can be checked by either injecting or obstructing certain hormones. Some hormone sensitive cancers are breast and prostate cancer. Removing estrogen or testosterone is also often used as an additional treatment.

Controlling cancer symptoms is not a stereotypical form of treatment aimed at cancer, but it also determines the standard of life of the victims of cancer, and plays a pivotal role in deciding whether the person would be able to undertake other treatments. …

The Busy Woman Fitness Plan

Someone asked me the other day which workouts should she choose to do. She was a little confused because in my post’s I talk about weight training, kettlebells, interval training and bodyweight exercises. So I could see how she was a little confused.

My answer to her and all of you is use them all. You know the whole variety is the spice of life thing. When it comes to exercise vatiety is your best path. Now I mentioned 4 different ways to exercise above do you know the combination and workouts you could put together?

Using variety will keep you interested and focused on getting to your fitness goals. I don’t know about you but I tend to get bored easily and let’s face it exercise isn’t always the most exciting thing in your life. If you keep challenging yourself with new and different workouts you will start to look forward to them. Especially once you start seeing the rewards in the mirror.

The one small problem with using exercise variety like I do is you have to really plan ahead. Back in the old day’s of doing the basic bodybuilding splits you went to your garage or gym or wherever you worked out and were going to do the same workout as you have been doing.

I tend to go by feel sometimes just for whatever reason I might feel like doing a particular exercise or exercises so I do it.

What I want to give you here is how to incorporate a variety of exercise programs to use. You do need to plan this ahead on at least a weekly basis.

Committ to Weight training Monday and Thursday

Like I said sometimes I feel like doing something in particular so I do it.

I guess in a round about way what I’m saying is if you say to yourself I am weight training today but I really feel like doing Intervals than do Intervals that day. You are motivated to do intervals not weight train that day. Chances are if you say I have to weight train you probably won’t even make it thruogh your workout.

Then you’ll be mad at yourself for that.

Oh I forgot to mention Exercise complexes well that’s for another day.

Easy Breakfast Recipes

My favorite meal of the day has always been breakfast. Nothing beats the cooking odors emanating from the kitchen in the morning. Fresh brewed coffee and sizzling bacon are two of the most recognizable and satisfying food smells, and they never fail to make me happy.

But breakfast is not only a morning meal. IHoP and Denny's can attest to that. Though the main stars are eggs, sausage, bacon, potatoes and pancakes, there are many variations and combinations of ingredients to keep your taste buds stimulated. Here are a few easy breakfast recipes that you can concoct in the kitchen.

Huevos Rancheros

What you need:

2 T olive oil
6 eggs
1 c sharp cheddar cheese
1/4 t salt
4 oz can green chiles (seeded and chopped)
3/4 c green pepper, chopped
6 six inch tortillas, flour or corn
1/2 c onion chopped
1 garlic clove, minced
28-32 oz can tomatoes, chopped and drained

What you do:

Heat tortillas one at a time, in preheated skillet over med heat. Turn over when they start to get puffy, repeat on other side. Wrap tortillas in foil and put in oven on warm setting.

In large skillet, cook onion, garlic, and green pepper in 1T oil until tender. Stir in green chiles, tomatoes and salt. Simmer for 8-10 minutes, uncovered.

In another skillet, heat one T olive oil. Break eggs into skillet and cook sunny side up until cooked to desired preference. Serve sauce on hot tortillas, topped with egg. Sprinkle on cheese; serve.

Breakfast Skillet

What you need:

1lb bulk pork sausage
1/2 c chopped onion
4 oz canned mushrooms, sliced
5 cups hash brown potatoes, frozen
1/2 cup chopped green pepper
1/4 t salt
1/8 t pepper
4 large eggs
1 c cheddar cheese, shredded
salsa

What you do:

In a large skillet, brown sausage. Add mushrooms, onion, green pepper, hash browns, salt and pepper. Cook for 15-20 minutes over med-high heat, or until potatoes are nicely browned. Beat eggs and pour over potatoes. Sprinkle cheese over mixture. Cook, covered, on low heat for 12-15 minutes, or until eggs are set and cheese is melted. Serve with salsa on the side. Salt and pepper to taste.

Breakfast Bake

What you need:

32 oz bag frozen hash browns
8 eggs, beaten
1 medium onion, chopped
1 green pepper, chopped
11/2 c cooked ham, chopped
11/2 c sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
2-3 T olive oil
salt and pepper to taste

What you do:

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Heat oil in a large skillet. Add hash browns, green pepper and onion and cook until potatoes are nicely browned.

Layer bottom of a lightly greased 9 "x 13" baking pan with potato mixture. Add salt and pepper. Layer ham over potatoes. Pour eggs evenly over ham and potatoes. Top with cheddar cheese. Cover with foil and cook for 30 minutes; serve. …

What is Vegan is all About?

Veganism is a stricter version of vegetarianism. It is a phenomenon that is catching up fast especially amongst the more health conscious people. It concentrates more upon minimizing or totally eliminating the use of any sort of animal product, be it in food or clothing or anything else.

So being vegan means bidding good bye to things like butter, milk, cheese, meat, honey, eggs and chocolates and replacing them with things like soy milk, sorbet, lentils and tofu as far as the menu charts are concerned. It also signifies the end of apparels made of silk, and being replaced by traditional cotton or rayon.

Reasons for Veganism

The reasons for doing so might vary from being purely ethical to the mere concern about health – or both!

Many of those suffering from lifestyle diseases like diabetes, cancer, hypertension, etc have reported positive effects and it is routinely being referred to Veganism for the diabetes reversal programs. Maintaining Mental Stability – Behavioral Health and Happiness

Charles Darwin discovered that we are basically primates. However, scientific discoveries carried on in the end of the twentieth century prove that the truth about the human nature is more complex than what he had believed.

The biologist and behaviorist Konrad Lorenz and other biologists discovered that we are basically programmed to react in a certain way. All wild animals are programmed to have certain specific reactions to various stimuli from their environment that indicate danger, that help them find food, and many other things. This means that many of the reactions that appear in our behavior are not the result of our own decisions, but the result of the existence of behavioral programs that pre-define our reactions, depending on the various stimuli of our environment that put them into action .

Lorenz related the findings of many biologists to his own findings concerning human and animal behavior. His remarkable research should have enlightened humanity. However, the conclusions he made were not appreciated by our hypocritical world leaders. This is why his discoveries did not change the global mindset, even though he was honored with the Noble Prize in 1974.

He discovered that there are so many hard-wired responses in human behavior, that we can not talk about 'human freedom'. In other words, if we are already programmed to react like animals in so many ways, we do not have the freedom to make our own decisions and do what we really want to. We do not control our behavior as we believe we do.

I related Konrad Lorenz's discoveries to Carl Jung's discoveries about the meaning of dreams. Then, I continued Jung's research through dream interpretation, discovering the wild side of our conscience (anti-conscience) that he could not see. The anti-conscience is our primitive conscience that did not evolve like our human side. It is a very violent primate, with the difference that it can think.

The existence of such primitive content in the biggest part of our brain means that we are basically cavemen who did not evolve enough yet. This is why so many behavioral programs determine our behavior.

The powerful anti-conscience generates mental illnesses and mental disorders within our human conscience until it manages to destroy it. Then, it completely controls our behavior, leading us to terror and despair.

If we want to maintain our mental stability and behave in a way that will help us find happiness in life, we must eliminate the absurd thoughts generated by our anti-conscience. We must also eliminate the negative behavior imposed by its violent nature.

The unconscious mind that produces our dreams works like a doctor because we need constant protection and guidance. We must follow the unconscious psychotherapy in order to transform the anti-conscience into positive content before it manages to destroy our humanity. Only then will we acquire true behavioral health and mental stability. Thus, only then will we find real peace and happiness in life. …
