Tips to maximize emergency room insurance supplements:

1. Figure out the best emergency rooms in your area ahead of time. The old saying go’s, most accidents happen around the home. Some hospitals have better reputations then others. If the nature of your injury allows you time to think, going to the best local ER is smart. Ask around if you don’t already know the best local emergency rooms.

2. Use the best surgeons. If the injury requires outpatient surgery, hunt down the best Orthopedic Surgeons for that specific injury. Lets say someone tore their ACL (knee ligament). Find out from local Physical Therapist who the best Orthopedic Surgeons for ACL repairs are in your state. Use a Surgeon who specializes in Sports Medicine and works with professional athletes. If the doctor is good enough to do ACL repairs and knee surgeries for the Chicago Bears Football team, the doctor is good enough for you.

3. Accident plans allow you to increase health insurance deductibles without stress. Most deductibles are met from bodily injuries anyways. Increase your current HDHP (high deductible health plan) deductible to the benefit level of the ER supplement. If you have a $10,000 benefit accident medical coverage supplement, increasing your current health insurance deductible to $10,000 would save you a lot of cash. Injury plans insure the large deductible almost eliminating any out of pocket exposure.
